Beaujolais is go go go!

What a spectacle seeing a Mercedes carrying characters from Allo Allo, a Ford Galaxy packed with superheroes, a Mini Cooper Convertible with Batman & Robin and our very own webcast Porsche with Starsky & Hutch. Laden with an extra photographer we soon changed him into Huggy Bear. Competitors had a great time and it is something many will never forget. Amazing roads and beautiful scenery gave great delight to excited drivers and time to plan for navigators.

Remember the object of the day was to find the checkpoint then photograph the team in front of it. The first checkpoint was a village called Bouzy and was greeted with relief by all as it was just 15 miles from the hotel. However, the remainder of the day was not so straight forward. Winding roads, long distances, and challenging clues kept them on the edge of their seats. Teams arrived at the finish between 5pm & 8pm. Several teams cutting out the last checkpoints in order to make it to the hotel in Macon in time for celebrations. Other checkpoints included the Aerodrome at Chatillon sur Seine, Dole and a Cathedral at Tournus.

First to arrive at the hotel in Macon was the BMW, then Jeep, Lotus with two James Bond's then the Jag XK with Penny Mallory. But remember it's not about first home - it's about shortest mileage. Winners and losers to be announced at Louis Jardot tonight.
