Macon to Reims, Awards night
7:06PM 18 Nov 2007
After 4 days and hundreds of miles of driving we find ourselves back in Reims. A beautiful venue and everyone in black tie. The evening started off with champagne and canapes then moved upstairs to a wonderful sit down dinner complimented with fine champagne.
To our surprise we had a special guest...Tiff Needell, who gave an insightful talk on the up's and down's of his career and racing. We also had the ambassador from Taittanger speak about the fine champagnes we were treated to during dinner.
Paul Brazier of Overbury Plc was once again the winner of the Hackett Beaujolais Run after his team's shortest mileage success in 2006. John Riley closely followed behind, somewhat hindered by having to pull a Porsche out of the mud!!. Mike and Viv Haynes raised the most money for the event for the second year in a row with Paul Brazier raising the 2nd largest amount.
The Wooden Spooner's of the event: Team Back to the Beaujolais, in their Delorian (from the Back to the Future Film of the 80's) with a speedo which registered 0 miles!!!
